    Information

The 17th International Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil will be held in September and October 2011. As suggested by its new name, a deep, intense model shift marks this edition when compared to previous ones.

Aligned with the nature of contemporary artistic practices, the new competitive exhibition expands its ability to soak in diverse manifestations, such as video, installations, performances, book-objects, and other artistic experiments.

Starting with this edition, the Southern Panorama Competitive Exhibition will accept work of various natures: video, installation, performance, printed objects, and other artistic experiments produced from May 2009 onwards by visual artists born in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania.

On the sidelines, the 1st Videobrasil Open Studio Prize will select young artists from São Paulo to create artwork in collaboration with others at the premises of Casa Tomada, a creation and interaction venue for artists in São Paulo.

The works will be produced in the first half of 2011 and will comprise an exhibition within the Festival.

The Festival is promoted by SESC São Paulo and Associação Cultural Videobrasil
