    About the artist

    (automatic translation)

In my perception, every reality sways a multitude of perspectives upon the subjective eyes that try to understand its manners. My attempt, in this context, is to establish my own forms through the eyes of my own perceptive abstract world. In my work, the effects of innovation, chaos and destruction occasionally reincarnate themselves as flying stairs, as demolished buildings or as reflections reflecting onto one another. In depicting an interior space, I build my own scenes of landscapes or the science fiction that reside in the deepest halls of my brain. The facts, the moods and the feelings that such historical places as the Hagia Sophia Museum in Istanbul promote, touch my soul, and also, my paintings. I seek to prompt the viewer to take their time in looking at, and in contemplating on, my paintings in order to provoke a certain feeling. From time to time, I focus extensively on certain spaces such as the Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern as well as on ‘stairs’, or on ‘reflections’ in general. Such lengthy periods of intense focusing result in a series of depictions where the same themes recur continuously.
