Lives and works in Barcelona
1980: Was born in Gnesta, Sweden
Claes Gellerbrink´s pictures are from a project he did back in 2005 when he studied photo journalism at the university in Sweden. He followed his friend Gunnar for a month when he lived in Manchester. The pictures show the normal life of playing music, listening to music, drinking whisky, buying nice vintage clothes, dressing up, friends, drinking more whisky and meeting ladies.
These pictures have actually never been seen anywhere except for the vernissage he had for his final projects. They are shot on expired film, hence the colours, that he got for free from the Newspaper where he had his internship, using a Nikon FE2 and a cheap plastic pocket camera.
Claes Gellerbrink became a studio photographer in East London and has worked as a freelance photographer since 2007 shooting from his own studio, mainly photographing comedians, actors, musicians and other performers.
His main interest in life outside photography is guitars. Playing guitars, collecting guitars, and writing about guitars on his blog, Claescaster.
Since 2010 he is based in Barcelona, Spain.
