    About the artist

    Julio Nieto was born in 1964 in Durango, Vizcaya, Spain.
    He obtains his bachelor's degree at the Institute of Iurreta, formed as an industrial master, he begins to develop a self-taught artistic training.
    He made his first exhibitions in the Basque Country and at the age of 22 he moved to Tenerife where she lives since then. With a clear multidisciplinary vocation, he develops his creations combining poetry and performance with matter fields as sculpture, installation and design.
    Exhibiting permanently in various spaces in Tenerife, he is also involved in various art exhibitions in Madrid, Basque Country, Miami, Germany, France and Italy and his large-scale works have been displayed in public squares in a number of cities.
    METAL SKIN is his latest itinerant exhibition created for the exteriors.
    His public artworks are in several places around the Canary Islands, his installations and performances took places in different venues such as La Recova, Fairground, packaging Art or Cultural Space TANK,etc.
    He won Puerto de la Cruz Honorary Distinction in 2009 for his artistic work and he was chosen to represent Canary Islands at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza.
    Among his multimedia shows, the KOKRAM is one of the more relevant and it is produced by the Cultural Department of the Canary Government and developed in the international space "TANK". GAROE is the ultimate creation designed to represent the Canary Islands in the last Expo Zaragoza. His sculpture installations are usually accompanied with performances.
    He was awarded by the Government of the Canary Islands for his design. Garoé won also a Replica Award for the scenic scenery arts.
    Julio creates also stages for many events and for theatrical productions.
    He made final Design Art for various public and private schools.
