    1969: Born in Tehran
    1994: She settles in France and attends the Decorative Arts School in Strasbourg
    2000-2003: She publishes the four volumes of Persepolis
    2003: She publishes Broderies (Embroideries), nominated for the Best Album Award at the Angoulême Festival in 2004
    2005-2007: She adapts Persepolis for cinema
    2008: She is part of the jury at the 61st Cannes Film Festival, chaired by Sean Penn.
    2008: Marjane wins the International Gat Perich Humor Award
    2009: She co-writes with Philippe Katerine the lyrics of Poney Rose for Arielle Dombasle’s album Glamour à mort, and draws that same year the album cover of Iggy Pop, Preliminaries.
    2011: She adapts for cinema another of her bestsellers, Poulet aux prunes (Chicken with plums), once more in collaboration with Vincent Paronnaud
    2012: She directs a new movie, La bande des Jotas (Gang of the Jotas) in which she reveals for the first time her skills as an actress.
