    About the artist

1984: Was born in Lörrach, Germany
2003-2010: She studied in Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart with Prof. Alexander Roob
2004: Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe with Prof. Franz Ackermann
2008-2009: Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien with Prof. Daniel Richter
2009: Akademie der Bildenden Künste München with Prof. Karin Kneffel

Educated by Daniel Richter, Franz Ackermann and Karin Kneffel Mona Ardeleanu posses a huge variety of expression in painting. For a couple of years she creates series with strange arrangements of patterns, materials and fabrics which are shown in front of a monochrome background, floating and without any reference. Such compositions inspire the view on the one hand to inwardly create a clear image but on the other hand they turn into the opposite – the image dissolves into colour only. While perceiving the image a basic uncertainty evolves. What do I really see?
