In the context of the programme Experience MACBA and the weekend Món llibre (Book World), MACBA will be screening the work by José Antonio Portillo, winner of the 11th Premi de Projectes d'Arts Escèniques Lleida 2010. Portillo, a multifaceted artist, describes the work in this way:

    - Some time ago I found a little book in Paris entitled Moi j'attends ('I await'). For me it had a great virtue: to provoke on the faces of its readers many of the emotional gestures expressed by human beings throughout their lives. I decided to do an Archive of Emotional Gestures, in the form of an audiovisual mosaic. Sixteen people from the Programme of University Extension Courses participated in the project. Three more towns took part: Sueca, Lleida and Olot.

But the project was not limited to registering emotional gestures. I asked the interviewees what they expected or not from life. If we click on each of the faces in the mosaic, we will hear their testimonies. -

The artist will present the project prior to the screening.

The programme Experience MACBA invites you to discover the Museum and contemporary art in a different and surprising way. Every Saturday until 21 h. you can experience a different type of Museum visit with special activities such as dance, music, cinema and performances accompanied by a Moritz beer. Come and discover the new Museum lounge-space!

José Antonio Portillo is a visual artist, writer, editor, theatre producer, set designer and teacher. He has been collecting and telling stories for many years.
