Heiko Müller likes the field, walking through the forest and enjoy a beautiful landscape. You are however bucolic experiences you are invited to explore what lies beyond that innocent perception of nature, the other side where prevail the secret rules of the animal world. The need for decoding such hidden part is born of this artist's work.

The work of Heiko Müller combines the Renaissance painting, religious icons and the culture of comics. Especially interested in the painting of the Flemish masters, moved their characteristic atmospheres of d. spirituality to the serene and candid rural world.

Stealth, the exhibition that presented in etHALL, is based on his personal reflection on the costumbrista cinema over the years 50'. Raised in a German family of strong traditions, Müller grew up fascinated by this film where "bad guys" lacked any opportunity. Now reviewing those movies and amazed by the crude manipulation that led him to interpret them as a reflection of an ideal world, has felt the need to show their own version of the same with a result that he himself qualifies as "patriotic garbage of terror... in black and white".

Resident in Hamburg, Heiko Müller (Hamburg 1968) regularly exhibits his work in Europe and USA, publishes in numerous international journals and is recognized as one of the most important figures of the new European figuration. He is also a regular contributor to the magazine La raw, editions ET, the other branch of the activities of our Association.
