Traditionalists works, landscapes and still lifes were the protagonists by excellence for several decades; from there, and with the support and guidance of the teachers of the schools who had direct access to trends and Western of beginning of century avant-gardes at some time of his life, the Colombian plastic was becoming increasingly more autonomy, consistency and vigor.

The regulatory principles of the so-called artistic avant-gardes of the 20th century, such as Impressionism, Expressionist and geometric abstraction, pop, surrealism, hyper-realism, Expressionism and figuration is adapted to our culture and our needs for experimentation resulting in a multiplicity of proposals that enjoyed wide recognition, both nationally and internationally in the majority of cases.
