The Space projects of the Galería Fernando Pradilla presents the "Material World" project which has counted with the curation of the Spanish artist Emilio Gañán. the exhibition brings together the work of the renowned Spanish artists Eduard Arbós, Luis Fega, Nuria Fuster, Ana H. del AMO, Carlos Pascual, Teo Soriano, Jordi Teixidor and Curro Ulzurrun.
World Material arises as an approach to the work of a number of painters of abstract root, that reach a new set of possibilities offered by the pictorial experience through geometry.
Of the 90s of the 20th century brought about a change of sensitivity that was reflected in numerous proposals that implicate a reconsideration for painting what had historically been Vanguards established. under this new vision, the trends that increasing the objectual and material aspect of painting opened a stage that reaches our days.
This shows offers a panorama in which artists of different generations raises his work from the transgression of the boundaries of painting, using material means and spatial configurations where the geometrical rigour, corporeality or conceptual irony are part of a common language and different at the same time.
Approach to this new dimension of painting can be approached in different ways, but one of the more interesting would that have developed this set of artists, who work the forms from the two dimensions, and whose experimentation on the medium itself has led them to the conclusions which are intended to show in this project. On the other hand, there is also another dimension in the approach to experimentation through the paint, and is one that focuses on the problems intrinsic to the medium itself, and that from there, is dealing with it and negotiate their last chances.
Material World presents, therefore, these two routes of approach to new forms of expression through painting, such as a proposal that invites reflection on its boundaries and horizons. In a scenario in which the rise of photography that has taken place over the last decade is giving way to a renewed interest in the pictorial, arises the need to bring to the public the new proposals posed by these artists, proposed dealing with the painting breaks with the two-dimensionality, to move to new media and rethink the boundaries between the pictorial surface and object.
