    • Ernesto Villanueva

    (automatic translation)

Ernesto Villanueva, one of the best reference of abstraction, expression and color in old Havana and Cuba today, arrived in Spain with his latest work "Summer in my Garden". After a long tour of Canada, Dominican Republic, China, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Switzerland, Korea, USA, Portugal, Italy, Miami, Uruguay and United Kingdom comes to Madrid at the hands of the Gallery of art David Bardia.

Ernesto Villanueva was born in Havana (Cuba) in 1970. Bachelor's degree in engineering and drawing, painter, printmaker, ceramicist and designer.

After a stage of more realistic work, becomes abstraction in "Summer in my garden", a series in which the painter shows us its interior garden. This new work has been preceded by three years of an exhaustive study of the geometry and color. Even though the color has always been constant in the work of Ernesto Villanueva, now in its new stage, can discover the painter in depth, because as he himself has stated: "Is a universe through which I can express myself".

Series "Summer in my Garden" is a work which Villanueva began in 2009. The initial idea has been changed and transformed in time using a same element from starting point to build a work with a conceptual and intellectual background inherent in all his work. His pictorial language, far from breaking syntax, is enriched by new forms.

The magnificent knowledge and use of color, is without doubt the key to the work of this artist influenced by trends in the Caribbean. Whether painting is monochrome or exposes all the palette, the color will always be more important than the line.

The exhibition, with more than 30 works, will remain open from April 9 until May 6, 2015 at the C / Villanueva, Madrid 40.
