InformationThe times of absentia, or, in Spanish, tiempo de ausencia, is a metaphor for the state of my being in relation to the society that surrounds me. A society that is orphaned of its values and submissive to the rules of consumption, which in many cases I find to be immoral.
A parallelism occurs between art and other areas of the communal activity. The use and dispose has appropriated the way of living, living, coexisting, working, consuming and even thinking. I feel in art, as in common life, the lack of serene reflection. Even with the multiple channels of communication that flood us, I miss the education of the following generations in the humanistic values, in respecting the environment and nature.
I understand creation as a fact that transcends and crosses the limits of my intimate and my ephemeral. My thoughts and my works are nurtured by the relationship with nature, as timeless mother. The nest of my works lives a life of its own, complete with beginning and end. Its reason of being is firstly my own need as a human being and then as a creator. I am driven by the need to bring an offer and escape these times of absentia.
