    Galería Elvira González opened in February 1994. Founded by Elvira González, director of Galería Theo for 30 years, Galeria Elvira González is now focused in XXth and XXIst century art, with particular interest in European and American art of the latter half of the XXth century and the work of contemporary artists.

    Galería Elvira González has held exhibitions which have had a major impactin the history of Spanish art galleries. Past exhibitions to mention are Rothko in 1995, Picasso and Women in 1996, 7,000 years of Modern Sculpture. A Permanent Aesthetics in 1997, Calder / Tanguy in 1999, Minimal Art in 2003, Donald Judd, Progressions 1960-1970 in 2009 and A.Tàpies. The 60s and 70s, in March 2012.

    New artists as Uta Barth, Waltercio Caldas, Olafur Eliasson, Robert Irwin and Robert Mapplethorpe have recently joined the Gallery.

    The Gallery works with major museums and cultural institutions and provides guidance to private and public collections. Together with the exhibition program, the gallery holds an extensive collection of works by artists of the XXth century.
