In 1985 Ana Planella (Girona, 1961 / Barcelona, 2006), student of Philology, and Joaquim Ruiz Millet (Barcelona, 1955), architect and both partner and writers, rehabilitate a building of 1910 in Art Nouveau style in the popular Verdi Street in the neighborhood of gracia:br

"the old door is opened, it jumped a huge cat, the dark and on the rubble and debris a solid cylinder of light is projected from the sunken terrace, as in an engraving of the prisons of Piranesi. We had a transcendent sense. At the rear, the House opened abandoned courtyard long to a palm leaves scattered on the ground and a lemon tree in the Center."

Initially designed to study architecture, opens its doors in October of 1989 transformed into contemporary art gallery. In a way a both naive and very intense: a new space to be, simply, used.
