Christina Paik's portraits show life as is
New York City - SEP 14, 2013

The young photographer Christina Paik, currently based between New York City and Paris, shows life as is. No idealization, no digital retouching, just life taking place and the people that she meets in the process. There's something raw and gritty, almost melancholic to her images showing young adults carrying out their existence. There's no sign of forced or enhanced poses, and she even ventures out to capture them naturally, without proper lighting or studied compositions. The naturalness that her work exudes is alluring, making everyday life seem magical.
