Daan Botlek's street art with characters that reveal their inside is both impressive and disquieting.

Daan Botlek's impressive and slightly disturbing street art
Rotterdam - OCT 07, 2013

Dutch artist Daan Botlek creates a truly unique type of street art. His art focuses on the human body and condition. In fact, many of his pieces represent a literal introspection since the viewer can see inside each character. This is illustrated by many of the characters featured in his murals that literally peel off, crawl out of or smash their outer layers to reveal their inner person.

This exposure of the inner self is fascinating and at the same time slightly disturbing, since it seems to remind the viewer of the true fragility of the human condition. Each piece is highly symbolic and conceptual, exploring a variety of ideas without being afraid of creating images that are visually powerful.
