Ron Ulicny's viscurrealistic sculptures
New York City - JUL 27, 2013

Ron Ulicny, the Portland-based artist has the ability of turning mundane objects into truly captivating sculptures. He uses objects like Scrabble pieces, pipes, bowling pins and knives to create what he calls 'viscurrealistic sculptures.' His intricate fabrications awe and amuse at the same time, pulling the viewer in with thought provoking relationships and bizarre compositions.

Ulicny pushes the boundaries of the traditional conception of a contemporary artist, calling himself sculptor and craftsman as well as fine artist, with a great ability to create "stuff".
