The Spanish artist Ruben Sanchez combines different influences in a unique style.

Ruben Sanchez's geometric street art
Barcelona - SEP 03, 2013

The Spanish artist Ruben Sanchez began painting at the age of 13. Now years later, his personal style has evolved into a colourful combination of diverse elements that reflect his Spanish background. The elements he combines are graphic design, tribal art, graffiti, cubism, skateboard culture, 90’s and 80’s music, flamenco and social situations. The resulting pieces are geometric graffiti murals that explode with powerful colours and surrealistic magic.

His latest adventure is painting in the streets of Dubai, where he has left his mark with murals featuring his style, figures and colours mixed with elements and characters from the local culture, creating an excellent combination of both worlds. Although graffiti is persecuted with jail time, Sanchez has been able to paint thanks to a one year residency program in Tashkeel.
