The BiennaleOnline is the first biennial of contemporary art that exists solely online.

The biennial format moves to cyberspace in BiennaleOnline
New York City - FEB 11, 2013

In recent years, the emergence of new biennial has been almost a constant in the world of contemporary art. Strangely enough, the virtual format had not been explored as a new "place" where to carry out an event of such characteristics.

Under the title Reflection & Imagination, the BiennaleOnline will opened its virtual doors on April 26, 2013, with the participation of 180 artists from Europe, North America, South America, Asia and the Middle East.

BiennalOnline has been organized and sponsored by the ART+, a platform for mobile phones that acts as a showcase for contemporary artists. The works of the 180 artists have been selected by 30 international curators, affiliated to internationally renowned museums such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm. Each curator has been responsible for selecting 5 artists and an unlimited number of works, among which there must be at least one from a range of established disciplines and categories.

The selected artists will be announced on April 15 and the biennial will "open" its doors on April 26.
